Jim's Journal

September 2004

Hola Compadres,

I have been very busy lately getting Glider up to speed for our gig at the Jupiter this Friday and I must say it is really starting to come together. There are magical things that occur when musicians have been playing together for a long time simply by knowing each others moves. Of course to get to that point Immer and I must constantly drill home
all of the chord changes again and again to the hard of hearing bass and keyboard duo of K-mac and Eisenberg...Schnell!!!

Adam and his Father took me to the Cal football game last weekend, it was quite an experience. First of all you can't get five feet walking around town before the game without well wishers yelling Adam's name preceded by "Go Bears" Hanging with Adam is the best way to get the full behind the scenes action at the games. We spent the second half on the field where you can really see and hear every hit. All the players know Adam and during the game they all came by to say hello and chat a bit with the rock musicians. So, there I am hanging out on the sideline drinking gatorade, shaking hands and standing amidst these giants in shoulder pads. After the game we headed into the locker room with the team to listen to coach Tedford hand out the mvp game balls and talk about next weeks opponent. Later on in the middle of the press conference, (due to the influx of all that Gatorade), I felt a strong need to search out the facilities. I was informed that the nearest bathroom was on the other side of the locker room so my journey ended up taking me through the lockers and showers right smack dab in the middle of a football teams post game rituals. The tricky part was trying to maneuver myself around and between the land of the giant football butts without actually coming into contact with one. It was not an easy task but I managed to reach the bathroom unscathed....at least physically unscathed that is.

Great to see so many Counting Crows fans at the Patrick Winningham show. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, I certainly did. It was fun for me to play with Dan outside the band as well, although I don't know if I will be doing anymore shows with them but we will see. I really appreciate everyone signing the guest book and yes I do read every entry. After this Glider gig is over I promise to go through it again and answer all the questions.

Adios until then kiddies, your pal, JimDog.
