Jim's Journal

Greetings,

I hope most of you enjoyed the CC show in New York. I have heard more than a few complaints about the set up. I am really sorry for any hassle it caused and I wish that we had control over those types of things. Unfortunately, you just do the gig and hope for the best. In other words, you do your job and trust other people will do theirs.

These photos are from the after party outside the bar, which was really rockin'. It was very cold that night in New York city yet we look totally unphased. Could that be the alcohol? Keep in mind this is not the usual night for the band. However, if you put us in NY for just one show and we are not touring, look out!!! I was outside on the phone moments before this picture was taken and someone walked out of the bar and actually passed out in the street!! I am pretty sure that guy had been trying to keep up with Dan Vickrey who was going deep with the pre-aged Scotch. Although, I did have the pleasure of sharing a car to the airport with Dan the next morning and he barely made it....without puking that is. I had to roll down the windows the whole way there because it smelled like a distillery in the freaking car!

Things should be a little tamer at the Patrick Winningham show this Sunday at Cafe Du Nord. I am really excited because we will have our man Charley Gillingham playing keys. He will add a lot musically and because he lives down south I don't get to see him that often while we are off.

I have had a few calls congratulating us on the Grammy nominations. I am really happy about it and that kind of thing is always good for business but I have done that a few times over with Sheryl. I am waiting for the Oscar, now that will be cool.

Well, that's about it for now. Happy Holidays to everyone and please do not hesitate to come up and say hello at the gig this Sunday.
Cheers, Jim
