It seems like everyone is enjoying these shows as much as we are. I love the format, and the hang with all the bands is a bit like summer camp. Great to have Spearhead back with us. I have known some of the guys in this band since the early stages of my career. We share the strong connection of many years in the bay area music scene. They add a much different style than any other band we have had out on tour. I also love getting my congas, bongos and percussion on!
I have been told more than a few times by various people that I am over due for a journal. This is the point of the tour when you are just holding on for dear life, trying to get to the finish line in one piece. Of course after being home a week or two I will be begging for the excitement of these shows, so that is always a good reminder to soak it up while I can.
On my days off, Immer and I usually go out on man dates. These start with a little breakfast and chai lattes at Starbuck's, resuming later in the evening for dinner and a movie. By my estimation we have seen eleven pictures on this tour alone. Highlights were "Moon" and "The Hurt Locker." Guilty pleasures have to be "Bruno," and "Drag Me To Hell."
We will be pulling into New York soon and that is always a welcome sight. Once again I will be there just in time to catch a few days of tennis at the US Open. Man date movies will have to be put on hold..... at least for a little while.
